We have received many inquires lately asking if there is still a burn ban. Unfortunately, the answer is YES. The King County Fire Chiefs and the King County Fire Marshal have had a Stage 2 burn ban in effect since August.
The reason that the burn ban is still in effect is simply because high fire danger still exists. It is very dry with relative low humidity. When those two come together, they allow vegetation to readily burn. So, for now, the fire season continues. We should see the burn ban lift as soon as there is consistent rain to change the fire conditions. We appreciate your cooperation to help keep our area safe. We will update our website and Facebook as soon as the burn ban lifts.
*A reminder for when the burn ban lifts-Residents are required to have a valid burn permit to burn. Exceptions are recreational, ceremonial and cooking fires. Please reference HERE for more information on outdoor burning.
